About this role

The Warehouse Assistant manages all daily warehouse activities, including Receiving, Put away, Returns, Picking, Shipping, Housekeeping, and SAP transactions. This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and escalates issues to the Warehouse Floor Supervisor. It ensures smooth operations in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Day-to-day tasks involve unloading trucks with a forklift, verifying Bills of Lading, processing SAP Receiving/Returns transactions, and putting away inventory using RF Gun and FIFO methods. Shipping duties include printing Transfer Orders, picking and packing outbound materials, processing FEDEX or truck shipments, and loading docks. Cycle counts and document filing maintain accuracy and organization.

Maintain close communication with the Warehouse Manager, Purchasing, Order Fulfillment, Customer Care, and OTR operations for delivery schedules and order status. Coordinate daily carrier pickups and ensure inventory racks and floor organization. Uphold quality, regulatory compliance, and warehouse cleanliness.

Requirements

Ability to operate a forklift for unloading and loading trucks
Proficiency in SAP WM for Receiving/Returns and Shipping transactions
Experience using RF Gun devices for picking, putaway, and cycle counts
Knowledge of FIFO inventory processes
Capable of lifting 70 pounds
Familiarity with FedEx Powership automation system
Understanding of shipping processes with carriers like FEDEX, trucking companies
Attention to quality and regulatory compliance procedures

Responsibilities

Handle receiving/returns: manage appointments for incoming deliveries, unload trucks using forklift, verify and sign Bill of Lading
Process WM Receiving/Returns transactions in SAP, print documents and labels, put inventory away using RF Gun and FIFO
Execute shipping duties: print Transfer Orders, pick and pack materials using RF Gun and FIFO
Process shipments in FEDEX SAP/Café or book with trucking carriers, load trucks using forklift, verify Outbound Bill of Lading
Perform daily cycle counts using RF Gun device and verify orders closed in SAP
Maintain inventory racks, floor organization, and overall warehouse cleanliness
Communicate with Warehouse Manager, Purchasing, Order Fulfillment, Customer Care, and OTR for accurate schedules and status
Lift 70 pounds, prepare shipments for carriers like FEDEX, AIT, STI/ALLIED, and handle freight claims for damaged inbound shipments
