About this role
The Customs Clearance Compliance Officer will develop, manage, and monitor compliance policies and procedures to ensure the company’s operations align with legal and regulatory requirements. This bilingual Korean/English role plays a critical part in risk management, policy enforcement, and corporate governance within supply chain and logistics.
Day-to-day involves monitoring regulatory changes and acting as the primary liaison with agencies for timely reporting and resolution of compliance matters. Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs while analyzing new laws that impact the business to advise senior management.
Review compliance risk assessments to confirm current processes control risks effectively. Draft and provide training to employees on compliance policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure all staff understand and adhere to them.
Operate in a dynamic environment focused on imports, customs, and FinCEN regulations, with fashion industry experience preferred. Create, maintain, and update reporting on compliance tests and risk assessments, preparing status reports for executive leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience, including at least one year of experience as a senior compliance officer at a mid-to-large size company (100+ employees)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to imports, customs, and FinCEN; fashion industry experience preferred
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience communicating and interacting with regulatory agencies and regulatory affairs
- Experience in conducting training sessions and developing compliance frameworks
- English/Korean Bilingual
- Certified Compliance Professional or other compliance related certification
Responsibilities
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization stays compliant with laws and regulations
