In this substitute role, you will operate agency trucks to make deliveries of bulk, pre-palletized foods to distribution locations across New Hampshire that support local community food pantries. Your day will involve operating large box trucks with lift gates, assisting with shipping and receiving of USDA donated commodities, and ensuring accurate inventory control throughout the warehousing and delivery process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency credential.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively operate trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Strong clerical skills including the ability to organize, implement, and maintain record keeping procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and accept direction.
  • Ability to work as a team player in cooperation with multiple agencies and organizations.
  • Successful completion of criminal record and driving record checks.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment Agency Drug & Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large box truck with lift gate for delivery of bulk, pre-palletized food products to eligible community food pantries and organizations.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of USDA donated commodities and other donated food items.
  • Prepare shipments for delivery, verifying product quantities agree with shipping invoices.
  • Operate agency equipment including forklifts and electric pallet trucks in the warehousing and delivery process.
  • Complete scheduled deliveries in a timely manner to pre-established food distribution locations.
  • Complete shipping and receiving records and invoices accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Check all fluid levels and perform pre-trip vehicle safety inspection prior to operating agency vehicles and equipment.
  • Inform immediate supervisor as soon as possible of any vehicle or equipment malfunctions and needed repairs.
