About this role

The Supply Chain US Refinery Planner maximizes US-based refinery assets to minimize costs and increase efficiencies. This involves managing capacity utilization, railcar optimization, supply versus demand analysis, and strategic processes. The position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager in Chesterfield, MO.

Conduct complex analysis of the US refinery position to optimize oil flow with crush/seed strategies. Develop and maintain US refinery plans to align key performance indicators for cost, service, synergies, and inventory objectives. Manage processes driving improvements in domestic and North American KPI metrics.

Collaborate with the Rail Fleet team to align the North American fleet with refinery forecasts. Work with internal groups including Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, Operations, and the Canadian Refinery team. Identify key drivers creating inefficiencies within the US Refinery network.

Lead medium to large continuous improvement projects for best-in-class supply chain management. Serve as an integral member of the IBP Supply process, communicating long-term challenges to stakeholders. Manage daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on demand/supply variances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics, Operations Research, Agriculture Economics, or related business discipline
  • Seven to nine years related experience with proven track record in supply chain value
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain and operational functions such as demand planning, production planning, forecasting, truck and rail logistics, supply chain optimization
  • Proven, effective analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills as well as experience with reporting tools such as Tableau and BW
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex and in-depth analysis of the US refinery position to ensure oil flow is optimized with crush/seed strategies
  • Develop and maintain US Refinery plans and strategies to optimize cost, service, synergies, and inventory objectives
  • Manage process to drive improvement in domestic and North American KPI metrics
  • Collaborate with the Rail Fleet team to ensure North American fleet aligns with refinery forecasts
  • Collaborate with key internal groups such as Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, and Operations
  • Lead medium to large continuous improvement projects to establish best-in-class supply chain management
  • Manage daily Refinery Reporting (Capacity & Drag) and balance order management with capacity
  • Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting process on demand/supply chain variances
