The Chefs' Warehouse combines exceptional quality and brand building with broadline food service distribution for more than 40 years. As a Day Warehouse Worker in the Bronx, you provide essential support to meet the facility's productivity and quality goals while handling orders for premium ingredients.

You read production schedules, customer orders, and work orders to determine items for movement. Materials are moved from receiving or production areas to storage or designated locations using electric pallet jacks and stand-up forklifts.

Product is sorted and broken down by SKU, quantity, and type before being assembled into customer orders on pallets. You communicate with receivers, drivers, and forklift operators while adhering to safety practices for truck and trailer operations.

Goods are sorted and stored in designated warehouse areas with proper labeling and recording of distributed items. Company-issued equipment including PPE and voice equipment is handled responsibly in a fast-paced environment supporting over 50,000 customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use electric pallet jack as well as stand-up forklift
  • Effectively communicate with receivers, drivers, driver check-in, and forklift operators
  • Responsible handling of company-issued equipment including PPE and voice equipment
  • Wear company-issued uniform and follow all safety practices in the work environment

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Sort and break down product by SKU, quantity, and product type.
  • Use electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift to handle materials and orders.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or move to loading dock for shipping.
  • Sort and store goods in designated areas of the warehouse and label pallets with identifying information.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed and open bales, crates, and other containers when necessary.
  • Adhere to proper safety practices for truck and trailer pull process and report safety concerns on a timely basis.
