About this role

Habitat for Humanity GTA is seeking a Construction Procurement Manager to oversee procurement, tendering, and project coordination for residential construction projects. This role ensures the sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, subcontracted trades, and services align with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and managing procurement documentation such as purchase orders, RFQs/RFPs, and bid evaluations. The manager negotiates with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing and reliable supply chains while monitoring and resolving issues like supply shortages and delivery delays.

Working closely with Construction Managers, Finance, consultants, and internal teams, this role coordinates procurement activities to support efficient project delivery. The position also assists with schedule and budget tracking, document control, and project closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in procurement and tendering for residential construction projects.
  • Knowledge of procurement documentation including purchase orders, RFQs/RFPs, and bid evaluations.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with construction project schedules, budgets, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong coordination skills to work with internal teams, consultants, and trades.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and resolving supply chain issues such as shortages and delivery delays.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support residential construction projects, including sourcing materials, equipment, trades, and services while ensuring quality, value, and timely delivery.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage procurement and tendering documentation, including purchase orders, supplier agreements, RFQs/RFPs, scopes of work, bid evaluations, and procurement records.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and service providers to achieve competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with Construction Managers, Finance, consultants, site supervisors, trades, and internal teams to support project schedules, budgets, and objectives.
  • Monitor and resolve procurement, material, scheduling, and vendor-related issues, including supply shortages, delivery delays, and performance concerns.
  • Assist the Construction Manager with coordination and administration of project activities, including schedule and budget tracking, document control, and project closeout.
