Join the Ingham Family Store team as a Truck Driver / Warehouse Assistant in this permanent part-time role (22.5 hours per week). Your reliable, hands-on work will manage goods movement and support retail operations while aiding the local community.

Handle safe and efficient pickups, deliveries, and processing of donated furniture and goods, following WHS and manual-handling procedures. Operate the company vehicle with regular maintenance and safety compliance. Assist on the retail floor with sorting, pricing, stock movement, and customer service.

Provide friendly, professional service to donors, customers, staff, and volunteers as a key contact point. Guide volunteers assisting on the truck and contribute to a positive, efficient environment. Maintain a clean, safe, organised workspace including waste removal to the local refuse centre.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience driving or operating commercial vehicles; furniture delivery experience highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Current valid QLD Driver’s Licence
  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders, in line with WHS requirements
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled pickups and deliveries of furniture and goods as directed by the Store Manager, following all WHS and manual-handling procedures
  • Provide friendly, professional service as a primary point of contact for donors and customers
  • Assess the quality and value of donated items and follow TSA pickup protocols
  • Manage waste removal and transport bins to the local refuse centre
  • Operate the company vehicle safely, ensuring regular maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards
  • Support and guide staff and volunteers assisting on the truck
  • Assist with retail operations including sorting, pricing, moving stock, and general floor support
  • Assist with sales, store opening and closing procedures, and secure cash-handling when required
