About this role

Bay Area News Group is looking for a part-time warehouse worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the inserting process for our publications is completed on a daily basis. This position supports the smooth operation of print production in the warehouse and mailroom.

You will hand-insert free-standing inserts into the inserting machine and handle a jogging table to align inserts perfectly before loading. Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move materials between the mailroom and warehouse, and use the shrink-wrap machine to wrap pallets. Additional tasks include working on the binder machine, loading mail pieces, and daily cleanup.

Requirements

Team player with the ability to follow supervisor directions
Positive, energetic personality
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous warehouse, material handling, or forklift experience preferred
Computer proficiency is a plus but not necessary

Responsibilities

Hand-insert free-standing inserts into the inserting machine
Use the shrink-wrap machine to wrap pallets
Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move materials between the mailroom and the warehouse
Handle a jogging table to align all inserts perfectly prior to loading an inserting pocket
Work on the binder machine to load signatures
Load mail pieces into the mail machine and gather addressed pieces off the conveyor
Perform daily cleanup of the mailroom
Handle shipping/receiving materials or use computer software to manage shipping materials
