About this role

This role focuses on developing and managing projects related to demand planning, inventory management, procurement, and supply chain and operations network planning. The analyst will identify needs, define and frame issues, and develop detailed project plans to drive operational improvements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing supply chain and operational analyses, developing project plans with tasks and measurements, and identifying necessary resources and task assignments. The role also involves providing analysis and reporting in conjunction with Information Systems, division Operations, and Financial Audit.

The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to recommend, develop, and implement standard reporting for routine business reports, and communicate results of key measurement projects. This position offers the opportunity to provide guidance on supply chain and operational problems while preparing detailed design documents that bridge user requirements with computer and database developers.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of operations and/or inventory management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access (designing and creating simple queries, modifying data types, adding dates, working with required fields, creating labels)
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (using SUM function, setting borders, column width, inserting charts, text wrap, sorting, headers and footers, print scaling)
  • Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Experience applying standard financial, accounting, and business problem-solving skills to business problems
  • Experience communicating to groups of managers, clients, customers, vendors, senior managers, and the general public
  • Experience in project management and data analysis
  • Experience with BEX (SAP Business Explorer), Web Focus, FoxPro, SAP, or Visual Basic

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage projects related to demand planning, inventory management, procurement, supply chain and operations network planning
  • Plan and prepare supply chain and operational analysis, developing detailed project plans with tasks, events, and measurements
  • Identify resources needed and make task assignments, then follow up, report on, and coordinate projects
  • Provide analysis and reporting in conjunction with Information Systems, division Operations, and Financial Audit
  • Recommend, develop, create, and implement standard reporting for routine business reports
  • Communicate results of key measurement projects and recommend actions on supply chain and operational problems
  • Provide ongoing data analysis and plan development for branch moves, demand realignment, and ad hoc reports as business conditions necessitate
  • Prepare detailed design documents that bridge user requirements and computer and database developers
