At Alexander Dennis, our vision is to lead the evolution of sustainable on-road mass transportation. As a Commodity Buyer, you will take ownership of a defined group of commodities, driving value through effective sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction initiatives.
You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies aligned to business objectives and lead supplier negotiations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams ensures performance, quality, and commercial success across the supply chain.
You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside commercially astute professionals. The role demands confidence in negotiation, the ability to influence stakeholders, and skill in analysing market trends to deliver value.

Requirements
- Commercially astute procurement professional with experience managing commodities and supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in negotiation and capable of influencing stakeholders.
- Skilled at analysing market trends to deliver value.
- Strong communication, organisation, and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of global sourcing and supply market analysis (preferred).
- Professional qualification in Purchasing or Supply (e.g. CIPS) or a relevant business degree (preferred).
