Join GXO as Senior Commercial Buyer (Indirect) in the central Procurement team. Own a £50m indirect category portfolio, leading end-to-end procurement cycles. Build strong supplier partnerships to deliver high-quality performance in a fast-paced dynamic team.
Utilise commercial buying experience managing circa £50m annual spend, ensuring compliance with company, legal, and industry standards. Partner with technical, solutions, regional, and legal stakeholders to optimise investment decisions and drive preferred-supplier compliance. Manage the full procurement lifecycle from market analysis to supplier performance.
Work in a hybrid role, 2 to 3 days per week in Northampton head office, Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00. Thrive in an energetic, innovative environment with global teams engineering faster, smarter supply chains. Access comprehensive support including private medical and employee assistance.

Requirements
- Commercial savvy experience as a buyer with aspirations to grow your own portfolio, beneficial in multi-site 3PL or Logistics/Supply Chain environment
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, integrate ESG/sustainability principles into sourcing decisions, and drive innovation and resilience
- Highly skilled communicator with outstanding negotiation and presentation skills, strong influencing ability across all levels
- Strong organisational capability with ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines consistently, and travel as required
Responsibilities
- Manage circa £50m annual spend in indirect defined portfolio ensuring compliance with company, legal, and industry standards
- Partner with technical, solutions, regional, and legal stakeholders to influence, optimise investment decisions, and drive preferred-supplier compliance
- Manage full procurement lifecycle including market analysis, tendering, competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting, supplier performance, and delivery
- Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, innovation, reliability, and efficiency
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting, support ad-hoc business needs, and uphold Health & Safety procedures
