About this role

The Supply Chain Manager leads the organization’s purchasing, inventory control, picking, receiving and shipping functions within a mid-size manufacturing environment. This role oversees day-to-day execution and strategic direction of material flow operations. It ensures customer demand, production schedules and operational objectives are supported efficiently.

Core work includes monitoring inventory health, material shortages and replenishment activities to minimize disruption. The manager drives optimization efforts that balance customer service, production support, inventory turns and cash flow. Warehouse layouts and material storage methods are maintained to support efficient workflow.

Requirements

  • Experience leading purchasing and inventory control in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP signals and production scheduling
  • Proven ability to manage supplier performance on delivery, quality, and service
  • Experience overseeing shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
  • Track record driving inventory accuracy through cycle counting and process standardization
  • Leadership experience coaching supervisors, buyers, and warehouse teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee purchasing, inventory control, picking, receiving, and shipping operations across the organization.
  • Ensure materials, components, and supplies are available to support manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
  • Drive inventory optimization efforts balancing customer service, production support, inventory turns, and cash flow objectives.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy initiatives including cycle counting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process standardization.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Buyers responsible for procurement of production and indirect materials.
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supply chain supervisors, inventory control personnel, buyers, shipping leadership, and warehouse teams.
