About this role
This role sits within the Castrol organisation as bp transitions to an integrated energy company and establishes its business and technology centre in Pune. The successful candidate will secure transport services that meet HSSEQ and service standards while covering primary, secondary and plant-related goods flows across Europe and META.
Day-to-day work centres on directing all packed and bulk transportation activity in a safe, compliant manner and holding overall Contract Accountable Manager responsibility for transport contracts. The manager owns the transportation budget, drives zero-based budgeting, and monitors IFOT, plan adherence, cost per litre and carbon-footprint metrics.
The position interfaces daily with country logistics operations teams, warehousing, O2C teams and the Global Logistics Excellence Team. It also serves as the key contact for non-product procurement topics such as 4PL, LLP and ocean freight arrangements.
Continuous improvement is expected through voice-of-customer input, digital opportunities and market-trend monitoring. The role supports proficiency-centre building and provides coaching to customer-facing teams on freight solutions and tender processes.
Requirements
- University degree in business economics, transportation economics, supply chain or similar
- 12 to 15 years experience
- Experience directing primary, secondary and plant-related transport flows
- Proven contract management responsibility for 4PL, LLP and ocean freight providers
- Strong understanding of HSSEQ standards and carbon-footprint tracking in logistics
- Ability to own and manage transportation budgets with zero-based budgeting discipline
Responsibilities
- Direct all transportation activity, packed and bulk, in a safe and compliant mode with full HSSEQ accountability
- Act as Overall Contract Accountable Manager for transportation contracts in cooperation with country logistics teams
- Own the managerial budget for all transportation cost and capex in EMETA and lead zero-based budgeting each year
- Function as process owner for end-to-end transportation, including warehousing and master-data interfaces
- Monitor transportation performance on service levels, capacity, plan adherence and costs
- Support O2C teams with import/export solutions that maintain competitive lead times at agreeable costs
- Collaborate with the Global Logistics Excellence Team to represent the interests of the performance unit
- Provide sign-off on approved processes, systems and changes while managing transportation performance reporting
