About this role

Lakes Gas, a family-owned propane provider for over 60 years, is seeking a Delivery Driver for a local route position based in Kenosha. Despite our size as one of the largest propane providers in the Midwest, each of our 60+ locations operates with a small-town, local feel, and our employees live in the communities they serve.

In this role, you will deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first-in-class customer service. You will be home every night, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment, as well as plant maintenance activities.

Our team is safety-conscious and customer-service oriented, and we value strong mechanical aptitude and good driving skills. You will operate and maintain handheld tablets for route management and communicate clearly with customers and dispatch.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
  • Clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
  • Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English language
  • Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Safety-conscious and customer-service oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and pull delivery hose
  • DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years

Responsibilities

  • Deliver propane, propane tanks, and cylinders to residential and commercial sites
  • Provide first-in-class customer service to customers on local routes
  • Inspect vehicle and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance
  • Fill, load, secure, and deliver propane cylinders or bulk
  • Perform maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment
  • Conduct plant maintenance activities as needed
  • Operate and maintain handheld tablets for route documentation
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including bending, climbing, reaching, and rotating as needed
