About this role

As a Manager of Global Logistics at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Supply Chain, Distribution, Global Trade Management, Customer Care, and other departments to manage domestic and international global logistics. Reporting to the Director of Global Logistics, you will oversee global transportation operations, carrier relationships, freight spend, and mode optimization to ensure cost-effective and reliable movement of goods.

Day-to-day, you will manage relationships with freight forwarders, parcel, LTL, and couriers, oversee carrier sourcing and rate management, and lead freight payment processes and audit programs to ensure billing accuracy and cost control. You will analyze transportation spend to identify savings opportunities and develop mode optimization strategies that balance cost, service, and transit time requirements.

Collaboration is key: you will work closely with procurement, planning, customer service, and operations teams to support transportation requirements, attend quarterly business reviews with carriers and logistics service providers, and support continuous improvement initiatives related to freight operations and transportation execution. The role involves evaluating network routing opportunities and driving transportation efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of global transportation and logistics experience.
  • 3+ years managing teams or leading cross-functional logistics initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in multi-mode transportation, carrier management, and freight procurement.
  • Solid analytical and financial acumen, including transportation cost analysis and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive logistics cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Experience managing carrier performance, KPIs, and service level agreements.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10–25%).

  • Monitor carrier performance through KPIs including on-time delivery, claims ratios, capacity utilization, and service reliability.
  • Collaborate with procurement, planning, customer service, and operations teams to support transportation requirements.
  • Attend quarterly business reviews with carriers and logistics service providers and evaluate network routing opportunities.
