About this role

This role involves the safe and efficient delivery and collection of HSF goods between Hilton Foods, its customers, and third-party warehouses. As an HGV Driver, you will also ensure the safety and condition of all vehicles in your care.

Your day-to-day duties include driving large goods vehicles, planning delivery routes and schedules, and conducting basic vehicle checks such as brakes, oil, and tyres. You will also provide good customer service at our sites and be a positive representative for the company while on the road.

Requirements

A valid Category Class 1 Driving Licence
A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
A valid Digital Tachograph Card
Ideally previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles in the UK or Europe
Strong knowledge of the UK highway code
Ability to plan driver breaks and manage long-distance hauls safely

Responsibilities

Ensure the safe transport of HSF goods between HSF, customers, and third-party warehouses
Provide good customer service at our sites
Serve as a positive representative for the company while on the road
Induct new drivers and perform driver assessments and training to ensure competency
Conduct basic vehicle checks including brakes, oil, and tyres
Plan delivery routes and schedules to optimise efficiency
Log delivery information correctly and maintain strong awareness of the UK highway code
