Drivers follow instructions and routes from the Fleet Dispatcher or Fleet Superintendent to pick up high volumes of raw material from processors, abattoirs, and packing houses per Raw Material Handling SOP WCRSW03. They monitor loads into containers or trailers and unload per pit dumping rules. Daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections ensure safety and compliance.

Roles involve shift work across days, afternoons, and nights based on business needs, with overtime to minimize facility downtime. Drivers maintain tools, equipment, spill response kits, and understand Conveyance clean and disinfect SOP WCRSC07. They act professionally on the road and at service locations when dealing with customers and the public.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract
  • 3 years of experience in commercial truck driving or similar environment an asset
  • Ability to adapt to working Days, Afternoons, and Night Shifts
  • Strong knowledge of the Greater Vancouver / Lower Mainland area
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with operating hydraulic equipment required
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Physically capable of lifting container lids, climbing ladders, pulling cable hooks, and performing repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead

Responsibilities

  • Drive scheduled routes to customer destinations based on instructions from the Fleet Dispatcher or Fleet Superintendent
  • Pick up high volumes of raw material from processors, abattoirs, and packing houses per Raw Material Handling SOP WCRSW03
  • Monitor raw material loads from customers into containers or trailers and unload per pit dumping rules
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spill response kits while understanding Conveyance clean and disinfect SOP WCRSC07
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Perform shift work based on company business needs and work overtime as instructed
