About this role

As a Home Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's you will drive a 3.5 tonne van delivering groceries directly to customers' doorsteps on time and in excellent condition across Worthing and surrounding areas.

Each shift begins with vehicle and delivery checks to confirm the van is clean, organised and roadworthy before navigating busy streets, narrow lanes and varied residential properties while maintaining safe driving standards.

When not on the road you will serve customers with substitutions and queries, build product knowledge to offer recommendations, and support wider store operations in a fast-paced, physical retail environment.

Requirements

Over 18 with a full UK/EU driving licence held for at least 12 months and no more than 6 points
Proficient at driving a large vehicle in busy residential streets, narrow country lanes and varied properties
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical and high-energy environment using initiative to solve problems
Willing to work flexibly across the store and learn new digital tools and technology
Able to move shopping containers up to 15 kg

Responsibilities

Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps on time and in great condition
Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy before driving
Serve customers brilliantly, support with questions and substitutions, and advise of any delays
Build knowledge of products, services and promotions to provide recommendations
Help across the store as needed when not making deliveries
