About this role
This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. They are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.
Day-to-day duties include loading customer orders properly on the truck and ensuring appropriate forms are completed. Drivers load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. They maintain the store vehicle, alert supervisors to repair needs, and operate equipment like trucks and forklifts.
The role involves contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise. Such access may be supervised or unsupervised, prompting a review of criminal history for safety and business protection. Drivers provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
Additional tasks include performing warehouse duties, tinting, mixing customer orders, and waiting on customers in the store. Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record while preparing reports and documents relating to deliveries. Requirements
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship
- Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
- Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) or be willing to obtain one within five business days
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends
- Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs and respond to inquiries
