About this role
The Logistics Manager oversees inventory management processes and defines departmental strategies to maintain appropriate inventory levels, eliminate obsolete materials, and reduce aging stock. This role manages resource distribution and allocation for all projects company-wide, as directed by the Operations Manager.
Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all inventory transactions, from receipt through stocking and distribution. The manager coordinates with shipping agencies, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to guarantee timely supply delivery to assigned project locations.
This position leads a team focused on continuous improvement, supporting HSE initiatives and safety awareness activities. The manager collaborates with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, and transportation companies to plan and evaluate logistics operations while maintaining high service levels within budgetary constraints.
The role offers growth through implementing best-practice logistics principles and driving operational financial performance. By resolving transportation, import/export, and customer issues, the Logistics Manager contributes to the organization's overall efficiency and cost optimization.
Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of logistics principles including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills to oversee logistics operations, coordinate with teams and partners, and drive performance.
- Excellent organizational abilities to plan and execute logistics activities, optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory levels, analyze data, and optimize processes.
- Problem-solving skills to identify logistical challenges and implement effective solutions.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is required for success in this role.
- Minimum 8 years working experience, with 5 years relevant experience; 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
Responsibilities

- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all inventory transactions and physical movement of materials from receipt to stocking distribution.
- Develop and execute standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.
- Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports, exports, or customer issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies to ensure inventory and system records are in agreement.
- Provide meaningful logistics data to aid customer service and cost improvements.
