About this role

Howmet Fastening Systems is seeking a Procurement Manager at the Carson, California location. The role leads day-to-day procurement activities for a business unit that holds the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems.

The Procurement Manager executes sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance monitoring while managing the site procurement team. Responsibilities include assigning workload, measuring supplier OTD, and supporting commodity management initiatives.

This position interfaces with senior management across Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Global Business Services. The role also contributes to process improvements that create transactional center-ready work and drive Total Cost of Ownership reductions.

The Procurement Manager leads project teams and aids in developing optimized processes in systems, supplier management, and contract administration. Focus areas include continuous improvement and integration of key suppliers to strengthen competitive supply chains.

Requirements

Strong financial analysis skills
Process oriented with familiarity in Continuous Improvement methodology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Manage the location procurement team and buyer performance
Perform sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and execution of agreements to fulfill day-to-day business needs
Manage project-related teams and initiatives across procurement operations
Lead process improvements and provide process expertise for procurement
Support commodity management through supplier integration and performance monitoring
Perform day-to-day data collection, implementation, and supplier improvement activities
Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership reduction efforts and initiatives
Aid in the improvement of systems and work processes
