About this role

This temporary 6-month role is responsible for managing end-to-end customs clearance, shipment coordination, and documentation control for Nestlé in Jeddah. The position ensures smooth import/export clearance, timely goods receipt, and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring shipments from internal platforms, segregating and assigning them to clearing brokers based on category and urgency, and coordinating pre-arrival notifications with warehouse teams. The role also involves tracking shipment arrival status, performing daily checks through FASAH reports, and following up on Q-block status with warehouse teams.

The Assistant Manager works closely with clearing brokers, SFDA inspectors, shipping lines, quality teams, and the IMS team to resolve clearance issues and quality-related receiving problems. This role also liaises directly with relevant authorities to ensure compliance and resolve regulatory matters.

This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in shipment lead time and service performance within a global supply chain leader. It provides hands-on experience in customs operations, broker management, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or any other related field.
  • Experience in customs clearance and shipment operations.
  • Proficiency in using internal shipment platforms such as DBS, M&M, and FASAH reports.
  • Strong knowledge of SFDA processes and regulatory compliance for import/export clearance.
  • Ability to coordinate with clearing brokers, warehouse teams, and multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Experience managing documentation including packing lists, sea waybills, and shipment trackers.
  • Familiarity with quality-related receiving issues such as batch discrepancies, missing items, and excess quantities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and extract new shipments from internal platforms such as DBS, M&M, and in-transit email updates on a daily basis.
  • Segregate shipments among clearing brokers based on shipment category, business needs, destination, and urgency.
  • Coordinate new shipment handover to brokers and ensure required documentation is received and actioned on time.
  • Send pre-arrival notifications to warehouse teams across all DCs to ensure readiness for inbound shipments.
  • Verify SFDA shipment status to determine whether items are released, under review, or require further action.
  • Manage shipment-related quality issues such as rusted or damaged containers by coordinating with shipping lines, quality teams, IMS, and brokers.
  • Update sea shipment tracker files, PO sheets, and daily SFDA tracking sheets with new shipment details and status updates.
  • Liaise directly with relevant authorities to resolve clearance issues, regulatory requirements, and compliance matters.
