About this role

As a Customs Brokerage Assistant at Crane Worldwide Logistics, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth import and export clearance processes. You will vet pre-alert documents from operations to verify whether shipments require licenses from regulatory bodies such as the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB), Guyana Energy Agency (GEA), Food and Drug Department (FDD), and Ministry of Business (MOB).

Your day-to-day duties involve matching invoices against air waybills or bills of lading, updating shipment trackers, and applying for all necessary licenses once the relevant documents are obtained. You will prepare worksheets for each shipment, handle payments and collection of licenses, and assist operations with obtaining freight certified and lien cancelled air waybills from agents.

Upon arrival of shipments, you will match incoming documents with the pre-alert, then submit them for customs processing through the ASYCUDA system with manager approval. You will also manage payment of duties and taxes after processing, and support operations by collecting bank drafts as needed.
