About this role
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end customs clearance and shipment coordination for Nestlé's operations in Jeddah. You will ensure smooth import/export clearance, timely goods receipt, and full compliance with Saudi regulatory requirements. Continuous improvement of shipment lead time and service performance is a key focus.
Daily you will monitor new shipments from internal platforms such as DBS and M&M. You will segregate shipments among clearing brokers based on category, business needs, and urgency. Coordinate handover of documentation and send pre-arrival notifications to warehouse teams across distribution centers.
Work closely with clearing brokers, warehouse teams, and regulatory authorities such as SFDA. Manage quality issues like rusted or damaged containers by coordinating with shipping lines, quality teams, and IMS. Liaise directly with authorities to resolve clearance and compliance matters.
This role provides exposure to complex supply chain operations and regulatory landscapes in Saudi Arabia. You will drive efficiency in customs processes and contribute to Nestlé's logistics excellence. This experience offers a strong foundation for career growth within the company's global supply chain network.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Proven experience in customs clearance and shipment operations.
- Knowledge of Saudi customs regulations and SFDA requirements.
- Experience with shipment tracking systems and internal platforms (e.g., DBS, M&M).
- Ability to manage clearing brokers and coordinate documentation effectively.
- Strong organizational skills for tracking multiple shipments and statuses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and extract new shipments from internal platforms such as DBS, M&M, and in-transit email updates daily.
- Segregate shipments among clearing brokers based on shipment category, business needs, destination, and urgency.
- Coordinate new shipment handover to brokers and ensure required documentation is received and actioned on time.
- Send pre-arrival notifications to warehouse teams across all DCs to ensure readiness for inbound shipments.
- Verify SFDA shipment status to determine whether items are released, under review, or require further action.
- Manage shipment-related quality issues such as rusted or damaged containers by coordinating with shipping lines, quality teams, IMS, and brokers.
- Update sea shipment tracker files and PO sheets with new shipment details; maintain daily SFDA tracking sheet.
